Spread the Light Yoga

Travel light, live light, spread the light, be the light.

~Yogi Bhajan

Yoga. There is so much contained in this 4 letter word. When many of us think of yoga, we can't help but picture bodies pretzeled into impossible shapes. Did you know the asanans (poses) are only 1 of 8 limbs of yoga? While the physical poses offer a way to connect with ourselves through movement, yoga is so much more. It is about how we breathe, how we view ourselves and others, how we choose to handle what life throws our way. Yoga is about concentration, mindfulness and compassion for ourselves and others. It provides a path to connect more deeply with ourselves and with our world.

Spread the Light Yoga is all about exploring all that yoga has to offer. Maybe your goal is to touch your toes or feel stable in a headstand? Perhaps you are looking for techniques to manage stress and find some inner calm? Even better, you might be approaching yoga without quite knowing what you are looking for. Whatever brings you to the mat, welcome!

My name is Rebecca Hydomako and I started Spread the Light Yoga as a way to share some of the teachings that have changed my life. Yoga taught me how to accept and love myself, even when I fell on my face. The more I loved myself, the more I found myself sharing that love with family, friends, co-workers, even strangers. I think this is something the world  needs more of! Yoga means unity. Unity of mind, body and spirit but also unity in our world! If each of us can spread a little light, the world will be a brighter place day  by day.

Nurture your own light...

Spread that light to others...

Watch the ripples grow.
